Our Story
What started as a simple effort to restore an overgrown horse property has grown into a sanctuary for animals in need.

Founded in 2016, our ranch began with a few goats brought in to help clear vegetation naturally. As lifelong animal lovers, it didn't take long before our passion for caring for animals expanded beyond weed abatement and into rescue, fostering, and providing permanent homes for animals that needed a second chance.
The Evolution
Over the years, we have fostered dogs rescued from Mexico, opened our home to animals whose families could no longer care for them, and created a safe and loving environment where every animal is treated as part of the family.
Sanctuary for All
Every animal that comes to our ranch has a unique story, and we are honored to be part of their journey. Whether they stay with us temporarily or find a forever home here, our goal is always the same: to provide safety, compassion, and the highest quality of care possible.
The Heart of Double R Ranch
One of our favorite success stories involves our tortoises. We adopted them from an elderly gentleman who could no longer provide the care they needed. At the time, they lived in a small 6-by-8-foot raised planter. Today, they enjoy an approximately 600-square-foot tortoise sanctuary where they can roam, explore, and thrive.
